About Us

About PBWest

Our history

PB West began as a Protective Behaviours training organisation. Over the past 10 years we have learned that once you truly understand Protective Behaviours, you cannot unlearn it.

That realisation has driven the growth of our work. We have developed a full suite of services and programs that are specifically built on Protective Behaviours principles and informed by economic and social evidence from around the globe.

Today we work with families, educators, organisations and communities to create genuinely safe, culturally respectful environments where everyone can thrive.

OUR APPROACH

What we do

We began as Protective Behaviours trainers, firstly trained locally, then we stepped up  to be trained by the developers of the program itself.  Over the past 10 years we learned something fundamental: once you truly understand Protective Behaviours, you cannot unlearn it.

Protective Behaviours is the HOW in consistently accessing our rights

Protective Behaviours is the WHY we don’t victimise others .

Protective Behaviours is a  framework for human accountability and connection.

That understanding has shaped everything we now do. We have developed a full range of services and programs deliberately built on Protective Behaviours principles and informed by strong evidence from around the world.

Our services, our resources and our training were created to meet a need. The need for human connection and validation and the need to feel safe.

Every service we deliver is grounded in the same foundation — everyone has the right to feel safe, the right to self determination and the right to be heard. Our practice reflects the deep knowledge  that rights are realised through responsibility for self, and to others.

OUR PURPOSE

Why we are here

Our mission is that every person is able to live a safe and adventurous life.

This includes people of every of age, ability nationality and culture

Our purpose is to assist  people to self-empowerment — particularly those who are vulnerable — with the skills, knowledge and confidence to access their rights, and to support self-determination.

At the core of our work is the commitment to everypersons right to feel safe.

and that rights are realised through responsibility.
